Feed-in Tariff Program - looking for land and large rooftops to lease to place solar - make $$$$

Program: We have project funding available and is looking for space in CA and HI to construct and operate FIT renewable power systems.  The owner/lessor receives an annual lease payment that is usually paid quarterly. Payments start after the system is producing power and is paid one month in arrears for a 20-25 year term. FIT projects (up to 1.5MW) typically take about 9-12+ months to become operational and larger systems can take longer.  PV Solar will be the primary equipment used with the potential to incorporate secondary Wind and Thermal Solar technologies at the site.

Site: Land in California must be at least two acres of unshaded space in PGE, IID, SCE or SDGE utility service territory.  Land in Hawaii must be at least one acre of unshaded space in HECO, HELCO or MECO utility service territory up to a system size of 250kW.

If the land or roof is sloped the site should be south, east, or west facing.  Grade should be no greater than 12 degrees.  If the site is level orientation is not an issue.

The project can be a combination of rooftop and land space as long as it meets the minimum space requirements.  Parking lot space can work in conjunction with rooftop and land space.  The minimum requirement for rooftop space only projects is 100,000 square feet of usable unshaded space.

Power: Prefer active power on property.  Prefer power to be 1500 feet or less from FIT site. Prefer commercial or industrial type zoning but other zoning types can work. Every property is unique and we are always glad to review your site free of charge.

Example: 1.5 MW site lease would pay around $18,000 a year for a 20 year term. It would require 7-10 acres of land.  Space requirements are dependent on site conditions. Multiple FIT Program systems may be able to be placed on site if there is adequate grid capacity and project requirements are met.

New utility territories are being added as Feed-in Tariff programs become available with Pristine Sun.  If you have a site that would you would like to lease that is not on the above list please send us your site details and we will notify you when the program becomes available for your utility.

Items needed to be completed to find out if your site will qualify for the FIT.

  • Completed F.I.T. client data sheet. Your rep can help you with this.
  • Sign the site lease – your rep will complete site lease with the information from the data sheet.
  • Provide site plot map with solar site area highlighted (PDF).

After review of your data sheet we will be able to tell if your site would be a candidate for a FIT program. This opportunity is not a solar farm.  This is a Feed-in Tariff program that is works with the utilities to help them meet their Renewable Portfolio Standards.  Utility application reviews are about every 60 days.   This is a multiple step process and not all properties will qualify for the FIT program.

We are always looking for good reps.
