I wanted to reach out to all the Solar Contractors and tell you about a solar tracking product my company has developed and see if you may be interested in offering this as another option to your residential customers.
ATR is a mechanical engineering company in the Baltimore/Washington area. 3 years ago we began developing a simple ground mounting system for solar panels with a robust sun tracking control system.
This tracking mount is designed to be mounted on a simple 6x6 wooden post. The complete system includes 2 (235 watt) solar panels, ENPHASE micro-inverter, sun tracking controller and automotive grade actuator. We also sell just the sun tracking mount for installers with their own solar panel preferences. The whole system comes packed in a box as a complete installation kit. Multiple systems can be daisy-chained together to meet nearly any system requirement.
This solar power module is niche product for customers that cannot or do not want a roof mounted system. It is also perhaps the lowest cost way for someone to get started in solar. They are competitive even on a small system of 2 or 3 units. The sun tracking performance provides the equivalent cost of $ 4-5/ watt installed!
